Accounts Receivable Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage and process accounts receivable transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms
• Reconcile customer accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies efficiently
• Perform detailed account analysis and prepare journal entries in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Follow up on overdue invoices through professional phone etiquette, email communication, and negotiation to secure payments
• Maintain accurate records of all billing activities
• Accounts Payable experience a plus
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including account reconciliation and analysis of debits & credits

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounts receivable functions within a corporate or public accounting environment
• Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks and/or inventory software
• Strong analysis skills combined with problem-solving abilities to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
• Effective negotiation skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for collections calls and customer service interactions
• Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with governmental accounting standards
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
