Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and a solid understanding of corporate and/or non-profit accounting principles. As a member of the accounting team, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of cash receipts, fixed asset tracking, payroll liability reconciliation, processing and posting journal entries, and assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. You will also assist with reporting to various local, state, and federal agencies, such as the Department of Labor, the IRS, and the Federal Reserve. This is an in-office position only, no remote work allowed.

Responsibilities

  • Process, record, and reconcile daily cash receipts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate depositing, posting, and allocation of cash receipts in the general ledger
  • Maintain and update fixed asset records, including capitalization, depreciation schedules, disposals, and related journal entries.
  • Track and record investment activity
  • Prepare and assist with required Federal Reserve, Department of Labor (DOL), and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) reporting.
  • Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established deadlines.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules for audit and internal review purposes.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
  • Maintain organized and complete financial records and documentation in accordance with retention requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains {GP) is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Non-profit experience a plus.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
