We are seeking an Acquisition & Deal Sourcing Specialist to help drive the strategic growth of our firm through the acquisition of established tax and accounting practices. This role combines deal origination, relationship development, and acquisition support to identify, cultivate, and advance opportunities with firm owners who may be considering a transition, partnership, or sale.
The ideal candidate is a proactive network builder who understands the accounting industry and can engage firm owners in thoughtful conversations about succession, growth, and long-term partnership opportunities.
This position plays a key role in building our pipeline of potential acquisitions and supporting the evaluation and execution of transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Sourcing & Origination
- Identify and source acquisition opportunities among tax, bookkeeping, and CPA firms in targeted markets.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective firms through research, networking, and outreach.
- Build relationships with firm owners considering succession planning, retirement, or growth partnerships.
- Maintain a CRM of prospective acquisition targets and track outreach activity.
- Monitor industry trends and identify regions or segments with strong acquisition potential.
Relationship Development
- Establish trusted relationships with CPA firm owners, partners, and industry professionals.
- Engage with referral sources such as industry consultants, accounting associations, attorneys, and brokers.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, accounting association events, and networking functions.
Acquisition Evaluation Support
- Conduct preliminary screening of potential targets including:
- Service mix (tax, bookkeeping, advisory)
- Revenue profile
- Client base
- Staff structure
- Assist in preparing acquisition summaries and opportunity briefs for leadership.
- Coordinate early-stage discussions between firm owners and the leadership team.
Transaction Support
- Support the acquisition process by helping coordinate:
- Initial meetings and introductions
- Information requests
- Due diligence preparation
- Assist in maintaining deal documentation and timelines during the transaction process.
Qualifications
Preferred Experience
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Business development
- Mergers & acquisitions
- Accounting firm consulting
- Private equity deal sourcing
- Business brokerage
- Corporate development
Industry Knowledge
- Familiarity with the tax preparation, bookkeeping, or public accounting industry strongly preferred.

Impact of the Role
This role will be instrumental in building the firm’s long-term acquisition pipeline, helping expand our presence by partnering with high-quality tax and accounting firms seeking succession solutions or growth opportunities.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
