" (Full-Time, Days) BHU Recreational Therapist (Activities Coordinator)

Schedule: It is expected this role will work 5, 8-hour shifts/week, M-F from 8 am to 4:30 pm, although that is subject to change based on business needs.

Our newly reopening Behavioral Health Unit is dedicated to meeting a vital need in our community. How you’ll contribute

A Recreational Therapist in BHU who excels in this role:

  • Works with internal and external resources to plan, set up, and coordinate patient activities.

  • Designs, evaluates, and recommends program and policy development.

  • Develops, promotes, and evaluates marketing departmental services and outreach activities.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with community referral resources.

  • Develops and coordinates staff development/education activities.

What we’re looking for

Applicants must have a current Nevada State RN license and possess a minimum of an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required.

  • A minimum of (1) year working in an acute hospital setting is required.

  • A bachelor’s degree in psychology or Therapeutic Recreation preferred. Will explore all degrees in a related program of discipline.
