Sun City Grand/The Grand is the premier active, age-restricted community in Arizona. We are currently seeking a full-time Activities Supervisor. The Activities Supervisor assists the Activities Manager in the planning, coordinating, and hosting events and activities for residents of this 45+ Active Adult Community. The role supports the day-to-day operations of the community’s activities programs by helping implement a vibrant calendar of social, recreational, and educational offerings. Working closely with homeowners, staff and vendors, the Activities Supervisor ensures events run smoothly, homeowner engagement remains high, and all activities align with community standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and overseeing a year-round calendar of community events, activities, and programs;
  • Oversee support staff and facilitators to ensure facilities, events, classes, and customer service meets the needs of the residents;
  • Interact with residents, members of the public, and entertainers as required during planning and execution of the event(s);
  • Assist the Activities Manager supporting Charter Clubs and Interest Groups;
  • Demonstrate ability to supervise others and get results through others;
  • Research new activities, coordinate with Activities Manager on implementation of new ideas;
  • Prepare tickets and flyers;
  • Monitor ticket desk activities to ensure proper ticketing and information (including travel agency flyers) are available for customer sales;
  • Continually review and research updated entertainment;
  • Attend events as directed by the Activities Manager, coordinate volunteers for same and act as the staff point-of-contact for the activity;
  • Prepare Activities sponsored events in the Events Calendar section of the Grand Lifestyles on a monthly basis;
  • Evening and weekend hours required based on event needs;
  • Interaction with homeowners on a daily basis; must maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times;
  • Provide back-up for other department functions as needed;
  • Keep current with events and activities occurring at The Grand; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Hospitality, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in lifestyle programming, recreation, or event coordination, preferably in an HOA or active adult setting.
  • Familiarity with HOA governance, community association management, or similar residential settings.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with staff, committees, and residents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HOA software platforms (e.g., community calendars, email platforms, reservation systems).
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Constant Demands: hear, see. Frequent Demands: sit, repetitive hand and arm motion, fine finger manipulation, talking. Occasional Demands: stand, walk, lift (up to 20 pounds); bend at the waist, crouch, kneel/squat, reach below the knees - knees to shoulder - and above the shoulder, and handle/grasp; sit, stand and/or movement throughout the day; must be able to transport oneself around the office and around the various facilities.

Environmental Factors: medium noise levels with the majority of the employee’s time spent indoors in an office environment.

Position requires mental acuity to ensure thorough mental analysis of situations in a fast-paced environment.

Employee is required to maintain confidentiality of information within the department.

May be required to deal with disgruntled individuals requiring the use of conflict management skills; is frequently required to perform work in confidence and under pressure for deadlines; and is required to maintain professional composure and tact, patience and courtesy at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
