Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Addiction Counselor specializing in Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide intensive outpatient program group services, support patients through their recovery journey, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery and wellness. Hours
Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 2pm-5:30pm
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine treatment needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Deliver IOP counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy.
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups focused on addiction education, relapse prevention, and coping skills development.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and clinical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, case managers, families, and community resources to coordinate care and support patient recovery efforts.
- Stay current on research developments in addiction medicine, mental health counseling, PTSD care, and behavioral health to enhance clinical practices.
Requirements
- Master’s or doctorate degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification as required by state law.
- Proven experience in addiction counseling and IOP groups.
- Expertise in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, case management, and behavior management strategies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to assess patient needs accurately and deliver compassionate care.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
