Adjunct - Emerging Technologies (AI, Analytics, Cybersecurity)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Mid-America Christian University is seeking a part-time faculty member with experience in teaching online for undergraduate and graduate courses in AI, data analytics, and emerging technologies in the field of business. The candidate must have a strong Christian background.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a student-centered Christian professional who can bridge the gap between current industry standards and future-focused academic theory. The candidate will be orienting adult learners to an accelerated format and be expected to provide meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to integration of the Christian faith into course topics. Specific responsibilities include:

• Teach courses within the School of Business as assigned by the Chair and/or MBA Program Director
• Provide quality instruction by following the instructor’s agreement contract criteria for performance
• Submitting course grades and performing other administrative duties as required.
• Effectively communicate with the Chair and/or MBA Program Director regularly
• Perform other such duties as may be deemed appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should possess the following:

• A terminal degree in the field of business, data science of closely related field is mandatory
• Expertise in the discipline with strong organizational and teaching skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to utilize appropriate, contemporary technologies and best practices in teaching.
• Adherence to the Christian objectives and policies of the University.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Doctorate in Business with an emphasis in Data Science, or a Doctorate in Data Science, Research or a Related Field from an accredited institution is essential. Candidates should have completed advanced coursework in statistics, quantitative research, qualitative research, database design, data analytics, and other related courses related to the discipline.
• Experience teaching in higher education is strongly preferred.
• Industry experience in data science, software engineering, or business is preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

• Experience with interactive computer programs (e.g., Zoom)
• Experience with either Canvas, D2L, or Blackboard- MACU utilizes Canvas
• AI-enabled technologies
• Python, SQL
