Adjunct Faculty - Economics and Finance - BAL

The Role
We are seeking an Adjunct Faculty in Economics and Finance to deliver high-quality teaching and support student learning across a range of Economics and Finance programmes. The role includes:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and deliver innovative teaching sessions and student seminars, focusing on student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Support students in their academic and practical learning, including industry engagement relevant to their modules.
  • Assist programme leads in managing allocated modules.
  • Contribute to programme development and the subject area, collaborating with the programme team and wider faculty.
  • Participate in the University’s Quality Assurance processes and adhere to all guidelines.
  • Lead allocated modules and perform related administrative duties.
  • Act in a collegiate and cooperative manner with staff and students, upholding the values of DMU Dubai.

Teaching Blocks:
  • Block 1: Applied Microeconomics (29 September – 7 November 2025)
  • Block 3: Applied Macroeconomics (09 February – 20 March 2026)
  • Block 4: Data Management and Visualisation (Tableau, Power BI) (20 April – 29 May 2026)
  • Each block consists of six weeks of teaching followed by an exam week.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Prepare assessments and exam materials, invigilation, and documentation for external examiners.
  • Support students requiring additional guidance.
  • Contribute to the development of faculty initiatives, international partnerships, and collaborative research.

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications:
  • A relevant honours degree and a postgraduate degree or professional qualification, both attested and accompanied by a UAE Ministry of Education Equivalency Certificate.
  • PhD in a related field is preferred.

Experience:
  • Teaching Economics and Finance disciplines in a Higher Education institution for 2–4 years, preferably in the UK system.
  • Experience managing modules and curriculum development.

Knowledge & Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in Applied Microeconomics, Applied Macroeconomics, or Data Management & Visualisation.
  • Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., R, Python).
  • Ability to deliver high-quality teaching, assessments, and student support.
