The Role
We are seeking Adjunct Faculty in Interior Design to deliver high-quality teaching on undergraduate programmes within the Faculty of Technology, Arts & Culture.
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching across modules such as Design Development, Advanced Conceptualisation, and Exploring Space and Context, ensuring that delivery is engaging, innovative, and aligned with UK higher education standards.
This role involves teaching, assessment, and associated academic responsibilities, as well as contributing to the enhancement of the curriculum and overall student learning experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, workshops, and studio sessions in Interior Design.
  • Prepare, assess, and provide constructive feedback to students on design projects and assignments.
  • Ensure compliance with academic standards and quality assurance processes.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of module content and assessment materials.
  • Support and guide students through project-based learning and portfolio development.
  • Foster a creative and inclusive studio environment that reflects DMU’s values and standards.

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field (required).
  • Attested qualifications with UAE Ministry of Education equivalency (mandatory requirement).

Experience:
  • Minimum of two years’ teaching experience in higher education (required).
  • Experience in studio-based design teaching at undergraduate level (required).
  • Industry experience in interior or spatial design, including exposure to professional design processes and project management (preferred).

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong subject knowledge in spatial design, visualization, and design communication.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software (AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, V-Ray, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students through innovative teaching methods.
  • Familiarity with UK higher education frameworks and assessment practices (preferred).

Teaching Schedule
  • Start Date: 24 November 2025
  • Duration: 6–7 weeks per teaching block
  • Teaching Load: 18–33 contact hours per module (depending on allocation)
  • Admin Hours: 14–28 hours per module
  • Days: Monday to Thursday (scheduled between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
