The Role
We are seeking an Adjunct Faculty member in Fashion Business to deliver high-quality teaching on the undergraduate module FBUY1101D Fashion Lifecycle within the BSc (Hons) Fashion Business programme. The successful candidate will guide students in developing an understanding of global fashion design and business practices, including fashion digital design, fashion marketing, merchandising, strategy, and digital enterprise.
The module provides an introductory overview of fashion business and innovation, helping students build practical and theoretical skills relevant to the industry. Through lectures, workshops, and creative assignments, students will explore merchandising concepts and use digital tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Canva to develop range plans and critical paths. The course also encourages critical engagement with sustainable design principles and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach and assess undergraduate students in FBUY1101D Fashion Lifecycle, focusing on innovation, marketing, merchandising, and strategy within a global context.
  • Deliver lectures, workshops, and tutorials that combine theoretical frameworks with practical applications using Adobe Illustrator and Canva.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support students’ academic and creative development.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous enhancement of curriculum and assessments, ensuring alignment with UK higher education standards.
  • Maintain accurate student progress and assessment records in line with institutional requirements.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and quality assurance processes as required.
Teaching Commitment:
Module: FBUY1101D Fashion Lifecycle
Total Teaching Load: 60 hours (48 teaching hours + 12 administrative hours)
Teaching Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Duration: 8 weeks
Start Date: 9 February 2026 – 3 April 2026
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree (or PhD) in Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing, Fashion Management, Fashion Business, Fashion Design Management, Fashion Entrepreneurship, Strategy and Innovation, Luxury Brand Management, Marketing and Management, or a closely related field.
  • Attested qualifications with UAE Ministry of Education equivalency (mandatory requirement).
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in Fashion Design or Fashion Business-related disciplines within transnational higher education, preferred in the UK higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching in areas such as Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing, Fashion Management, and Luxury Brand Management.
  • Experience guiding students in creative projects using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva or other CAD tools.
  • Proven ability to prepare and evaluate fashion business-related reports and academic assessments.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong understanding of global and local fashion business trends and brand management.
  • Familiarity with European and UK fashion brand heritage and promotion strategies.
  • Ability to deliver engaging, student-centred teaching that integrates theory and practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
