This position teaches courses in one or more of the following degree/certificate programs; Chemical Dependency Specialization, At-Risk Youth Specialization, Social Work Specialization or Community Health Worker.
Adjunct (part-time), semester-based employment with compensation based on course load and institutional pay schedule
A Masters degree from an accredited university in social sciences field (psychology, mental health, sociology, social work, substance abuse, criminal justice) with at least 18 graduate hours in that field.
Four years experience in the mental health field in direct client care or six years of related administrative (program coordination, supervisory, teaching in mental health, working directly with college students) can be considered as experience to teach SCWK, PSYT, CMSW courses. In addition: Individuals teaching SOCW courses must have an LMSW and must have a current master’s level social work license. Individuals teaching DAAC courses must have specific experience working with substance abuse clients and/or a current license as a chemical dependency counselor.
Individuals teaching Community Health Worker classes must have a Community Health Worker Instructor certification or be eligible to be certified within a year of employment.
