Adjunct Instructor in Art and Graphic Design

The Division of Fine and Performing Arts at Methodist University seeks Adjunct Instructors in Art and Graphic Design. Courses and topics may include:

  • Graphic Design Studio
  • Typography
  • Interactive Design
  • Language of Art
  • Business and Marketing in Art
  • Photographic Media
  • Art History and Theory
  • Foundations: Drawing and Painting

Applications

Qualified candidates are invited to submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, three references, and a 1–2-page Teaching Philosophy. Candidates are also invited to submit a link to a portfolio or example works.

All successful candidates will have a Master’s Degree in Art or Graphic Design, experience teaching in any of the above areas, and be proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite programs – specifically, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Adjunct instructors may teach between one and three courses per semester; each course is three credit hours, although some may require more contact time.

Preference will be given to those with graphic design and photography teaching experience. Industry experience will also be considered.
