Overview and Objectives of the Position:

Lecturers at Murdoch University Dubai are responsible for delivering high quality education to a diverse cohort of students. Responsibilities will include delivery of lectures and labs to UG and diploma students, marking of assignments and supporting students in their work.

This unit plays a critical role in developing postgraduate students’ ability to analyse, model, design and manage information systems that support organisational and business needs.

We are seeking high-calibre professionals with a strong blend of academic expertise and industry practice in systems analysis, software design, and business systems.

Key Responsibilities

·        Delivering lectures, tutorials and learning activities aligned with Murdoch University standards

·        Teaching systems analysis and design concepts across the full system development life cycle

·        Facilitating student learning in areas such as requirements analysis, UML modelling, system architecture and software design

·        Assessing student performance and providing academic feedback

·        Ensuring academic integrity, quality and consistency in all learning materials and assessments


Selection Criteria

Essential Qualifications

A Master’s degree (AQF Level 9) in an Information Technology–related discipline, including Systems Analysis and Design

Teaching Experience

Previous experience teaching Systems Analysis and Design or closely related units at tertiary level Industry Experience

Professional experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Software Analyst, IT Consultant or equivalent


Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

·        Systems analysis and requirements investigation

·        Use cases and domain modelling

·        UML modelling (use case, activity, class, sequence and architectural diagrams)

·        System and software design

·        User interface design

·        Object-oriented design

·        System testing, deployment and documentation

·        Project planning and project management

·        Systems development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)

Expected Learning Outcomes Supported

·        Understand how information systems support organisational needs

·        Apply the systems development life cycle

·        Analyse and model business problems using UML

·        Design system architectures, applications and databases

·        Apply professional, ethical and project management practices in systems development
