Position Summary

NTN Driveshaft, Inc. is seeking a skilled and proactive Purchasing Direct Buyer to manage the procurement of raw materials and production-critical components. This role ensures timely, cost-effective purchasing decisions that support manufacturing schedules, quality standards, and supplier performance. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, ERP proficiency, and a deep understanding of direct material sourcing in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase direct materials required for production, ensuring optimal cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders in alignment with production schedules and inventory targets.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
  • Collaborate with planning, engineering, and quality teams to support new product launches and material changes.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives and supplier negotiations.
  • Ensure ERP system accuracy for purchasing data and material availability.
  • Assist in supplier audits and onboarding processes.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in direct material purchasing, preferably in automotive or manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (JDE preferred).
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IATF standards and supplier compliance requirements.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
