Job Title: Plant Accountant

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Plant Accountant is an on-site role at the copper tube manufacturing facility in Fulton, MS, responsible for all financial and accounting functions of Fulton's copper tube operations.
- Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Participate in month end close – prepare journal entries, reconcile inventory, etc
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Provide explanations for balance sheet and expense account fluctuations.
- Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles at the plant level. Participate in budgets and forecasting at the plant level, as necessary.
- Provide financial support and direction to the plant operations team.
- Provide accounting leadership in annual physical inventories.
- Interact with internal and external auditors.
Day to day functions include:
Provide production numbers, spending updates, and other ad-hoc reporting to management.
- Oversight of raw material receipts into the ERP system.
- Reconcile production numbers and perform adjustments.
- Track scrap produced and enter transactions in the system.
- Track production yield.
- Manage fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and capital project reporting.
- Process weekly payroll journal entries.
- Accounts payable oversight.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ Years of accounting experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
- Attention to detail and problem solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent with spreadsheets and databases.
