LOCATION: Shettler Elementary School
POSITION: Administrative Assistant
HOURS: M-F; 8 Hours Daily (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 40 Hours/week)
Annual Calendar: two weeks before teacher report date; two weeks after school lets out
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Prefer candidates with school-based clerical experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Record Keeping & Office Management
-
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including student attendance, medication logs, budgets, and field trip documentation.

Follow district policies and procedures for managing and dispensing student medication, including proper documentation.
-
Adhere to financial best practices for managing school accounts, including handling receipts, deposits, and other financial transactions.
-
Demonstrate excellent office and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines efficiently.

Maintain organization while managing multiple ongoing projects and responsibilities.
Technology & Software Skills
-
Proficient in Google Drive and all related applications (Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.).

Willing and able to learn new software programs to enhance office efficiency.

Familiarity with or willingness to learn district software, including: PowerSchool, SWIS, MICR, MARS, and SIRS.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills

Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents in a positive and professional manner.

Greet and assist visitors in a welcoming and helpful way.

Exhibit strong telephone etiquette and the ability to direct calls and messages accurately.

Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with a diverse range of student and adult behaviors.
Professionalism & Teamwork

Maintain confidentiality in accordance with Board of Education policy and Michigan school code.

Stay composed and professional in high-pressure situations.

Work collaboratively as part of the office and school team.

Be self-directed and take initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the building administrator.
