About Us

We are a successful and growing FedEx Ground contracted service provider operating in the Hickory, North Carolina area. With approximately 50 employees, we manage daily pickup and delivery operations while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, customer service, and employee support.

We are seeking a dependable and organized Administrative Assistant to support our management team and help ensure smooth day-to-day business operations.

Position Summary

The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative, clerical, and operational support to company leadership. This position plays a key role in maintaining employee records, coordinating schedules, managing communications, and assisting with various office functions that support our transportation and logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and office communications.
  • Assist with employee onboarding and personnel file management.
  • Maintain driver qualification files and other required records.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, and training sessions.
  • Process payroll-related documentation and timekeeping records.
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence.
  • Manage office supplies and coordinate vendor orders.
  • Assist with safety meeting documentation and compliance tracking.
  • Support recruiting efforts by posting job openings and scheduling interviews.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
  • Provide general administrative support to ownership and management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or administrative certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of administrative or office support experience but not required.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in transportation, logistics, delivery, or trucking industries.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and employee record management.
  • Experience supporting hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Knowledge of DOT compliance documentation is a plus but not required.

Schedule

Monday–Friday

Typical office hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (may vary based on operational needs)
