Administrative Assistant

Full time Administrative Assistant FOR A GROWING SPECIALTY PEDIATRIC OPTOMETRY PRACTICE

As an administrative assistant, you will be working in one of the most interesting and rewarding specialty practices in eye care. We will work with children (many with special needs), helping them overcome their vision-based learning problems. At our center, we help both children and adults with visual development and visual rehabilitation.

We are looking for a bright, energetic individual who loves to help people, is a fast learner, self-directed, well-organized and has good communication skills. This person will want to commit to an opportunity that offers tremendous job satisfaction, as we help children succeed when nothing else could, and help adults who have struggled since childhood with vision-based learning problems that now affect their professional and private lives!

The position is 8:30pm to 5:30pm Mon- Thurs; 12:30 - 6:30 Fridays

Qualifications:

Must have a working knowledge in various computer software: Word, Excel, Quickbooks, Outlook; comfortable with administrative equipment (multi-line telephone, fax, copy machine, etc); needs to have an excellent telephone voice; great multi-tasker.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Patient/Parent Education about our programs
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Answer phones
  • Working as a team-member throughout the day to keep the office running smoothly

Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate possesses the following skills and experience:

  • administrative experience in the education or medical fields preferred
  • Previous experience in a school, high traffic learning center, day care or doctor's office preferred
  • Encourages open communication with parents and staff by listening attentively and actively
  • Manages multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Is articulate and able to communicate well on the telephone
  • Able to expand job responsibilities, suggest improvements, and collaborate with others to generate ideas and improve processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $31,000.00 - $33,000.00 per year
