The position supports both departmental leadership functions and medical student education activities within the Department of Neurology.
Executive Administrative Job Responsibilities:- Provides administrative and clerical support to the Chair of the Department of Neurology including drafting, typing, and proofreading correspondence and departmental documents.
- Manages the Chair’s calendar, appointments, and meeting schedules.
- Coordinates communication between the Chair, faculty, staff, residents, students, and institutional leadership.
- Assists in preparation of meeting agendas, materials, presentations, and reports.
- Takes minutes during meetings as requested and maintains records of decisions and action items.
- Coordinates travel arrangements, meetings, and departmental events.
- Maintains confidential files and records related to departmental operations and personnel matters.
- Serves as a liaison between the Chair and faculty, staff, and institutional administrative offices.
Clerkship Coordination Job Responsibilities:- Coordinates schedules for medical students rotating through the Neurology Clerkship including assignments with faculty, residents, and off site clinical activities.
- Facilitates communication between students, faculty, residents, medical school administration, and affiliated clinical sites.
- Assists with planning and implementation of clerkship orientation sessions and educational activities.
- Coordinates and proctors student examinations conducted during the clerkship cycle.
- Tracks and collects faculty evaluations of students and ensures timely submission through institutional systems.
- Maintains records and documentation required for clerkship administration and accreditation.
- Maintains and updates clerkship information and materials on institutional learning platforms or coursework websites.
- Assists in identifying and resolving scheduling or logistical issues related to student rotations.
Other Job Responsibilities:- Assists with preparation of departmental presentations, reports, and academic documentation.
- Maintains organized files and assists with departmental administrative tasks.
- Participates in departmental educational and administrative activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training or college coursework is helpful but not required.
EXPERIENCE:
Prior administrative or office experience is helpful but not required. Candidates with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
