Position Summary
The Administrative Assistant supports the daily operations of the early childhood center by providing administrative, clerical, and organizational assistance. This role ensures efficient communication with families, staff, and the community while helping maintain accurate records and a welcoming environment for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative assistance to the Director and teaching staff.
- Manage front desk operations including greeting families, visitors, and staff.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and general inquiries in a professional manner.
- Maintain office supplies and assist with ordering materials.
Family Communication
- Serve as a primary point of contact for parents and guardians.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and family records.
Records and Documentation
- Maintain accurate student files, attendance records, and enrollment documentation.
- Assist with data entry and maintaining databases.
- Ensure compliance with licensing and regulatory documentation requirements.
General Support
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming office environment.
- Support staff with administrative needs and classroom documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Administration.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, and basic office software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Demonstrates a consistent Christian lifestyle and commitment to congregational life and mission.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred
- DCF 45 hour child care training course
- Previous administrative or office experience, ideally in a childcare or educational setting.

Physical Requirements
- Able to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Will be required to work in person, on the campus of the school.
- Capable of moving equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Comfortable working around young children, including sitting, standing, running, and climbing stairs.
- Able to lift and carry small children up to 80 pounds in emergencies.
- Physically able to stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch as needed.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
