The Administrative Assistant facilitates the efficient operation of the assigned department by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Answer and transfer phone calls, screening when necessary.
- Maintain filing systems as assigned.
- Retrieve information as requested from records, email, minutes, and other related documents; prepare written summaries of data when needed.
- Respond to and resolve administrative inquiries and questions.
- Coordinate and schedule travel, meetings, and appointments for managers or supervisors.
- Prepare agendas and schedules for meetings.
- Record and distribute minutes or other records for meetings.
- Maintain office supplies and coordinate maintenance of office equipment.
- Maintain a system for recording expenses and the use of petty cash
- Perform other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
- May require lifting and carrying light loads, 10 or more pounds (e.g., boxes, small equipment, materials) and stooping or kneeling (e.g., filing documents in lower file drawers, picking up items from the floor, or removing and replacing items on lower shelving)
- Strong manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment (e.g., computers, mobile devices, copiers, etc.)
- Activities include extended periods of sitting, movement, and extensive work at a computer and phone.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in an administrative role.
