Job Title: Administrative Assistant II - Library


Retirees of the Texas Teachers Retirement System (TRS) may apply.
Consistent with district policy SD-7.17 “Employment of Retirees,” selected applicants are responsible for reimbursing the district, through payroll deduction, for the current rate of all TRS pension or TRS Care surcharges. As of September 1, 2025, the TRS pension surcharge rate is 16.5% and the TRS Care surcharge is $535/month.

Salary Plan


Primary Purpose:
Assist the Library Services Administrator with library inventories across the district. Maintain monthly and yearly circulation and periodical reports for all campus libraries. Work involves performing computer operations, maintaining library materials, processing and keeping related records and performing various shipping and receiving tasks.


Qualifications


Education/Certification/Experience:


High school diploma from an accredited high school or hold GED.


Three years of full-time, wage-earning experience in general clerical/secretarial duties.


This position requires personal technology that will enable the completion of job duties and responsibilities when working remotely.


Special Knowledge/Skills:


Knowledge of shipping and receiving.


Skill to maintain record keeping system for files and records.


Skill to operate computer equipment.


Major Responsibilities and Duties:


1. Assist in conducting and coordinating inventory functions for the district.


2. Prepare, process, and deliver annual inventory information to campus libraries.


3. Organize and maintain magazine and newspaper information.


4. Assis in maintaining inventory records and circulation and periodical reports in the master database.


5. Respond to inquiries regarding library inventories, circulation reports, magazine/newspaper reports and related information.


6. Compile, analyze, and tabulate data and prepare related reports.

6. Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of the job duties.


7. Perform duties in a professional manner through daily, punctual attendance at locations of work assignment.


8. Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties.


9. Execute duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247, Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.

Environmental Demands:


Work inside and outside, noise, radiant/electrical energy, work alone, work with others, around machines with moving parts and objects, possible exposure to microwaves in use, exposure to hot and cold temperatures, exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.
