About the Role

Austin Tinkering School is looking for a detail-oriented and creative Administrative Assistant, aka “Tinker Helper!” In this role, you’ll work with the Director to support a variety of technical, organizational, and communication related tasks! This position is around 5 hours per week, more or less, with the potential for an increase in hours and responsibility as we develop an Operations Manager role; manager of the space, curriculum development, hiring and coordinating teachers, etc.

For this current position, we’re looking for someone that’s tech-savvy, proactive, and enjoys bringing a touch of creativity to their work. If you love staying organized, communicating with families, and adding a bit of flair to online content, you’ll fit right in!

Main Responsibilities

  • Create and post engaging content across social media platforms (reels, flyers, stories)
  • Develop and distribute weekly newsletters featuring upcoming camps, programs, and special events
  • Maintain and update the shared Google Calendar with current programs
  • Provide support to families regarding enrollment, cancellations, and credits via email
  • Send pre-camp messages to enrolled families with important details and reminders (applies to summer camp programs)
  • Periodically update the Austin Tinkering School website

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience designing graphics and making content using Canva
  • Strong written communication skills and professional email etiquette
  • Comfortable using digital tools/learning new systems quickly
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Experience with the Sawyer database is a plus!
  • Basic website editing or development experience is preferred
