Administrative Assistant-Quality Department - Holland, Michigan
Short-term (THREE-MONTH) Contract position
Day Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4'ish pm
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Purpose of the Administrative Assistant - Quality Department position:
The Quality Administrative Assistant is responsible for the Quality Lab filing systems, assisting in special projects and general office duties for the department by performing the following duties:

The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position. However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position:
- Maintains and improves current system of record retention and filing
- Creates customer related documents and letters, as well as internal production support and QC documentation
- Records, tracks, and reports on critical quality indicators
- Assists in the development of computer capability in the QC lab
- Copies data and compiles records and reports
- Tabulates and post data in record books
- Operates computer terminal to input and retrieve data
- Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.)
- Punctual and regular attendance is required
- Able and willing to work any shift assigned
- Maintains a high-level of confidentiality in all duties
- Keeps work area clean and orderly
- Participates in continuous improvement activities
- Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor
Job Qualifications of the Administrative Assistant - Quality Department:
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Basic Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiple, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed buy uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Business Judgment:
Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures in a professional and consistent manner. Able to apply common sense understanding and use appropriate judgment in routine business situations with supervisor, co-workers, and customers
Technical Skills:
Ability to work with the following software packages or programs:
- Microsoft Office at a(n) intermediate level
- Microsoft Project at a(n) beginning level
- Effective email and electronic communication skills required
Ability to work with the following database programs and/or hardware:
- MQ1 database at a basic level
- QAD database at an intermediate level
