FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly (10 months)

Employment Status: Full-time, 40 hours

Chattanooga Christian School (CCS) is a Christian, interdenominational, co-educational, day school nestled on 55+ acres at the foot of Lookout Mountain. CCS has been serving Christian families in the Chattanooga area since 1970 and currently enrolls 1,550+ students in the Lower School (Preschool -5), Middle School (6-8), and High School (9-12). Position Overview:

This position will perform administrative duties on behalf of The Glenwood School (TGS). This position also has responsibility for organizing all student information, distributing information to families and staff, coordinating drop-off and pick-up of students, answering phones and emails, and maintaining supplies for the campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all records are entered accurately in the school’s student management system (SMS).
  • Ensure set up of gradebooks and progress reporting systems in the school’s SMS.
  • Manage requests for access to the campus for families, staff, and admissions personnel.
  • Maintain thorough and professional communication with families and staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of students and families; maintain files for students who attend The Glenwood School.
  • Manage, administer, and log medications given to students.
  • Provide information for admissions, social media, co-curricular opportunities, field trips, and Thursday Updates.
  • Manage uniform orders and inventory.
  • Order and organize supplies for offices and classrooms at TGS.
  • Manage all administrative duties as needed.
  • Provide temporary classroom supervision in the absence of the classroom teacher.
  • Facilitate positive social exchanges for students and families with school and church staff.
  • Follow all applicable aspects of the CCS Employee Handbook.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of Chattanooga Christian School / The Glenwood School.
  • High school diploma; applicants with a strong administrative background will be given priority.
  • Bi-lingual with the ability to read, write, and speak fluently in both English and Spanish.
  • Experience working with students and families from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Character, call, and availability to fulfill the needs of the job description.
  • Highly motivated and able to work collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to problem-solve and think creatively.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and utmost professionalism in confidential and sensitive student matters.
  • Is comfortable using technology including all functions of the Google Suite.

  • Requires vision to read small print.
  • Requires the mobility to stand, stoop, reach and bend. Requires mobility of arms to reach and dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate small objects.
  • Requires the ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Requires the ability to walk long distances.
  • Requires lifting, pushing, and/or pulling which does not exceed twenty-five pounds and is an infrequent aspect of the job.
  • Is subject to normal inside and outside environmental conditions.
  • Mental acuity to perform the essential functions of this position.
