Position Overview
Maayan Torah Day School is a Jewish Private School. Our Early Childhood Program caters to ages 6wks-5yrs. We are seeking a highly organized, adaptable, and proactive Administrative Assistant to support the Director of Early Childhood at our private school. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic school environment, enjoys working with young children, and can seamlessly balance administrative responsibilities with hands-on classroom support.

About the Role
The Director of Early Childhood oversees a full-time, five-classroom program and wears many hats. This position is critical in supporting the Director maintain daily operations, ensuring schedules stay on track, and providing flexible support wherever needed. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, detail-oriented, and comfortable stepping into a variety of roles throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct administrative support to the Director of Early Childhood

  • Manage schedules, calendars, and daily priorities to help keep the Director on task

  • Attend meetings and take clear, organized notes

  • Draft and send communications to parents and staff

  • Assist with classroom preparation and materials as needed

  • Float between classrooms to provide coverage and support at a moment’s notice

  • Respond to staff requests for assistance (including via walkie communication systems)

  • Complete assigned projects during designated office time, including document creation and organizational tasks

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a school setting (required)

  • Demonstrated leadership or management experience

  • Proficiency with Canva and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, etc.)

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively

  • Flexible, responsive, and solution-oriented mindset

Schedule & Work Style
This position includes a combination of floating classroom support and designated office time. Flexibility is essential, as daily responsibilities may shift based on program needs.
