Administrative Assistant to the Special Education Director (2026-2027)Reports To: Special Education DirectorThe Haverhill Cooperative School District is seeking an energetic, organized, outgoing, and highly motivated individual to join our Special Education Team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with a variety of people, can work independently with minimal supervision, and is comfortable asking questions when clarification is needed. This position offers the opportunity for some remote work time based on performance, job responsibilities, and District needs.General Definition of Work: The Administrative Assistant to the Special Education Director performs a wide variety of independent, confidential, and complex administrative support duties, including but not limited to: - Assisting the Special Education Director in all aspects of administering the District's Special Education Program.- Providing confidential secretarial, clerical, and administrative support services.- Managing purchase orders, requisitions, and budget-related documentation.- Assisting with budget development, planning, and monitoring.- Supporting state reporting and compliance requirements.- Maintaining student records and program documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.- Coordinating communication with staff, families, service providers, and outside agencies.- Supporting Medicaid-to-Schools billing and documentation processes.- Contributing to the effective, efficient, and organized operations of the Central Office.Qualifications: - Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while remaining flexible and adaptable.- An outgoing, energetic, and positive personality with strong interpersonal skills.- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment.- Confidence to seek clarification, ask questions, and communicate effectively when support is needed.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.- Familiarity with special education regulations, IDEA, compliance requirements, and Medicaid-to-Schools processes preferred.- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and maintain composure under pressure.- Proficiency with office technology and software applications, including Microsoft Excel; experience with Tyler Technologies and IVEE preferred.- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.- Associate's Degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and three to five years of relevant administrative experience.Position Type: Full-Time, Year-RoundWork Environment: This position is primarily office-based; however, some remote work time may be available based on demonstrated performance, job responsibilities, and District needs.The Haverhill Cooperative School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
