Location: 1441 Laura Lane, Pottstown, PA 19464 (Montgomery County)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, plus two evening meetings per month
Salary: $22–$24 per hour (based on experience)

Position Overview

The Administrative Assistant & Township Secretary serves as the central administrative support for township operations. This role is responsible for maintaining official records, coordinating meetings, assisting with public communications, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting and assisting residents and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Answer incoming calls and return messages as needed
  • Monitor, read, and respond to emails throughout the day
  • Process Right-to-Know Law requests in a timely and compliant manner
  • Prepare Board of Commissioners (BOC) agenda packets
  • Attend, record & transcribe minutes for two evening BOC meetings per month
  • Maintain and organize township records in accordance with the PA Municipal Records Manual (including retention, archiving, and disposition)
  • Handle incoming and outgoing township mail and distribute appropriately
  • Update the official staff directory as needed
  • Accept and process permit applications (in-person and by mail)
  • Manage and update the township website and social media pages
  • Maintain residential property files

·Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of business English, spelling, and punctuation
  • Experience with general office practices, procedures, and equipment
  • Ability to work independently on complex clerical tasks
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain detailed records and prepare accurate reports
  • High school diploma or GED required

· Prior Municipal or Government experience is a plus
