Administrative Assistant/Accounting Clerk

CATCO is a heavy highway, bridge, and road contractor located in Alden, New York, serving Western New York for over 30 years. We’re looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Accounts Payable / Office Support team member. Applicants who show initiative and take ownership will be strongly considered.

Construction office experience preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable from invoice receipt through payment (review, code, enter)
  • Prepare and issue vendor payments accurately and on time
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain organized, accurate AP and purchase order files
  • Assist with month-end close tasks (journal entries, account reconciliations as needed)
  • Coordinate with field/office staff to ensure proper coding and supporting documentation
  • Answer and route incoming office phone calls
  • Support additional administrative/accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications / Skills

  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Experience with accounting software and standard office tools
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid problem-solving skills and professional communication
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
