Administrative Assistant/Advocate

Overview
The Abuse and Rape Crisis Center (ARCC) is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant/Advocate to provide essential clerical, administrative, and advocacy support. This full-time (38 hours per week) non-exempt position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of ARCC’s administrative functions while also assisting with client services.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and clerical skills, proficiency in office software, a commitment to victim advocacy, and direct services experience. In this role, you will manage office operations, support fundraising efforts, maintain records, provide direct services to clients as needed, and participate in an on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities

Clerical Duties:

  • Perform filing, copying, and preparation of direct service packets.

Client Services:

  • Answer phones and take accurate messages.
  • Provide advocacy, on-call support, and other direct services as needed.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparing deposits.
  • Inventory and record in-kind donations.
  • Prepare thank-you notes and donation receipts.
  • Complete bank reconciliations using accounting software.
  • Assist during audits.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support ARCC’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of related experience, education, or training
  • Completion of ARCC counselor/advocate training (will be provided on site)
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Excellent and accurate typing and clerical abilities
  • Proficiency in office software (spreadsheets, documents, etc.)
  • Knowledge of office procedures and management
  • Experience with record-keeping and administrative tasks
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Awareness of and commitment to victim advocacy
  • Ability to interact with clients in a non-judgmental and compassionate manner
  • Must meet all required clearances for the position

  • Do you have at least one year of experience working one on one with persons who have experienced trauma or who have been impacted by interpersonal violence?
  • Are you able to provide on-call (after hours) services, between 4 pm - 8 am nights and 8 am - 4 pm on weekends/holidays? On-call may include phone calls or in-person response and is approximately 5-6 shifts a month.
  • This position requires the candidate to be within 45 minutes of Towanda, PA, in case of on-call crisis response. Are you located within 45 minutes of Towanda, PA?
