Position Overview:

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory seeks an Administrative Associate to join the Electronic Engineering Division (EED) of the Accelerator Directorate. The Hardware Department within the Electronics Engineering Division is responsible for the Operation, Maintenance and design of all electron beam electronics including racks and cables, instrumentation, RF and diagnostics systems.

The successful candidate will perform a variety of administrative duties which may include creating and editing communications, documents, reports and spreadsheets, and inventory management for construction engineering groups.

SLAC pushes the frontiers of human knowledge and drives discoveries that benefit humankind. Our 2-mile-long particle accelerator is the lab¿s backbone. Once the scene of major discoveries in particle physics, today it generates the world¿s brightest X-rays for our revolutionary X-ray laser, the LINAC Coherent Light Source (LCLS).

Given the nature of this position, this is 100% on-site position

Your Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare and review material lists, requisitions, job orders, and other documents associated with development, fabrication, assembly, installations, and testing.
  • Process inventory requests, returns and reports as needed by the relevant projects
  • Perform office duties including, but not limited to, handling of incoming and outgoing communication, entering inventory data into basic tables, reports, or spreadsheets. Generate inventory reports as needed.
  • Review invoices for accuracy, and initiate purchase requisitions and return purchasing.
  • Create and maintain files and filing systems for inventory management.
  • Adhere to the SLAC¿s EH&S policies and maintain all required related training up to date.

Please note: This is a full time 1-year fixed-term appointment with the possibility of extension or conversion to continuing appointment based upon satisfactory job performance, continuing availability of funds and ongoing operational needs.

The expected pay range for this position is $31.97 to $38.40 per hour. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
