Administrative Medical Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrative Medical Assistant to support our healthcare team in performing necessary administrative duties for efficient clinic operations. This role requires excellent organizational skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and physiology. The Administrative Medical Assistant will serve as a vital link between patients and healthcare providers as well as health care providers and insurance companies ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

  • ACTIVE certification as Medical Assistant
  • Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in outpatient or hospital environments preferred; experience in dermatology or emergency medicine is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and familiarity with ICD coding for accurate documentation.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to various specialties, ICD 10/CPT Coding, insurance policies regarding prior authorizations
  • Attention to detail with strong ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence across diverse populations.

Duties/Job responsibilities:

Prior Authorizations:

  • Authorizations: medications and CT scans
  • Documentation Management: Gathering clinical documentation and submitting, tracking, and managing authorization requests to insurers.
  • Communication: Acting as the primary contact between providers, insurers, and pharmacies to resolve issues and expedite approvals.
  • Denial Management: Handling denied authorizations, filing appeals, and providing additional information as needed.

Scheduling and Referrals

  • Referral Management: Processing, tracking, and coordinating incoming and outgoing referrals to specialists.
  • Patient Scheduling & Communication: Booking appointments, reminding patients of scheduled visits, and providing instructions.
  • Communication Bridge: Acting as the main point of contact between primary care physicians, specialists, patients, and families.
  • Dictation Letters: fax outgoing dictated letters to referral providers concerning evaluation and treatment of patients referred

Part time : FLEXIBLE hours

Hourly $16-18

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
