Cohen Milstein is seeking a Administrative Paralegal. The Practice Group Administrative Paralegal will provide billable paralegal support services for the Antitrust practice group (and other practices as assigned), along with general non-billable administrative tasks in support of various practice group ongoing needs. This role also involves a range of legal and administrative duties that support attorneys, including managing case files, drafting documents, conducting research, scheduling appointments, and communicating with clients and witnesses.


Administrative Responsibilities (for Assigned Attorneys):

  • Arrange, coordinate, and organize meetings (in-person and/or virtual), attorney travel, and client conferences.
  • Input attorneys’ time entries in timekeeping system.
  • Review and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Coordinate other deliveries (track receipts when needed).
  • Track attorneys’ bar registration and CLE accreditation.
  • Prepare and enter attorney reimbursable expenses, submit invoices, and track payments.
  • Perform any additional related administrative functions as needed.

Paralegal Responsibilities (for Practice Group):

  • Preliminary legal and factual research.
  • Docket retrieval and review.
  • Database maintenance.
  • Prepare and file pro hac vice applications.
  • Interact with clients or potential clients as needed.
  • Track all ECF/filing credentials, update them as new cases are filed, and provide assistance with ECF filings as needed.
  • File pleadings and documents with the court, including filings under seal.
  • Manage document production and handling, including organizing, drafting, formatting, inputting, editing, proofreading, retrieving, copying, scanning, transmitting, and printing legal documents, and creating binders and other correspondence.

  • Ability to perform job responsibilities independently while also being a team player, seeking guidance when needed.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work well with multiple lawyers.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects without missing deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) and professional demeanor.
  • A strong work ethic and sense of professionalism and discretion, demonstrating accountability, integrity, good judgment, and commitment to the Firm’s work.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to legal, professional, and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.
  • Adept at establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, engaging with all levels of employees and management across the Firm.
  • Highly analytical, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Paralegal Certificate, or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (e.g., an associate’s degree and 4 years of experience as a legal secretary).
  • Preferred 3-years prior administrative/secretarial or paralegal experience.
  • Prior Litigation experience preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Chrome River, Aderant/iTimekeep, Teams, and iManage preferred
  • Data entry proficiency.
  • Experience with filing cases in state or federal courts preferred.

Schedule:

Full Time: 35-hour work week – Typically Monday through Friday; 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility for overtime as needed. This position offers a hybrid work schedule with up to two remote days per week.


We offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and a wonderful work environment. The expected hourly rate (excluding bonus) is $30.22. - $38.46. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors. You will be eligible to receive a year-end bonus, the issuance and amount of which are discretionary and dependent upon the Firm’s profitability.
