About the Internship
Leading Edge Academy of Dance is seeking a highly organized, creative, and tech-savvy individual for our Administrative & Social Media Internship. Operating out of our 3,600-square-foot facility in Frederick, our studio is dedicated to providing an inclusive, non-competitive environment for the arts.
This is a paid, entry-level internship designed for college students, recent graduates, or motivated individuals looking to build a professional portfolio in arts administration and digital marketing. You will gain hands-on experience being the welcoming face of our front desk while directly driving our studio's online growth.
What You Will Learn & Do
Digital Growth & Social Media:
- Content Creation: Create, schedule, and post engaging daily content across our platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) to highlight studio culture and student achievements.
- Strategy Implementation: Execute strategies to organically grow our follower base and increase local engagement.
- Digital Marketing: Assist with light website updates (WordPress), local SEO strategies, and designing digital flyers (using Canva or similar tools) for upcoming showcases and enrollment periods.
Administration & Customer Service:
- Front Desk Operations: Act as the first point of contact, greeting students and parents with a positive, professional attitude.
- Studio Management: Work directly with Co-Director Noline Edmond and the management team to ensure smooth daily operations across our three studio spaces.
- Enrollment Support: Process new student enrollments, specifically assisting with onboarding for our $19.99 one-week trial offers.
- Communications: Answer phone calls, respond to email inquiries, and maintain accurate records.
Who Should Apply?
- Experience Level: This is an entry-level position! No extensive corporate experience is required, making it perfect for current students or recent grads. Previous retail, reception, or customer service experience is a plus.
- Social Media Savvy: You should have demonstrable experience using social media platforms and a strong understanding of current digital trends and engagement strategies.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must be comfortable drafting professional emails and speaking directly with parents.
- Tech-Oriented: Comfortable learning new enrollment software and eager to expand your skills in digital marketing tools.
- Personality: Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of multitasking in a vibrant, fast-paced creative environment.
