Position Summary
The Administrative Support Specialist provides essential administrative support to ensure the efficient, timely completion of high-priority tasks within the Billing & Collections Department. The ideal candidate is familiar with a range of billing and collections practices and established departmental procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, collate, and process daily patient invoices, insurance claims, EOBs, PCRs, and related documentation
- Complete and submit daily outgoing mail and manage daily fax submission of insurance claims
- Manage and maintain assigned workflows on a daily basis
- Research patient accounts via the Montefiore Epic system
- Document and file applicable hospital face sheets
- Run and submit daily productivity reports and templates at the end of each shift
- Complete assigned projects requiring strong attention to detail and timely follow-through
- Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned by management
- Promote and foster the mission, vision, and values of Empress Ambulance Services
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum)
- Previous administrative experience required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented, coachable, and able to take initiative
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to document, analyze, and interpret work and instructions accurately
Physical Requirements
- Ability to hear, see, and maintain full range of motion
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
