The Admission Navigator supports the Admission Department by providing direct patient care tasks and ensuring full compliance with Valley Forge Medical Center’s policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.


This is a clinical role!


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs, blood glucose readings, and Blood Alcohol Content (BAC).
  • Administer Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) tests and Urine Drug Screens (UDS).
  • Perform 12-lead EKGs, enter admission orders into the EMR, and collect laboratory specimens.
  • Assist with patient wound care while maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Ensure admission rooms remain clean, organized, and ready for use; support nurses by gathering and relaying patient information.
  • Phlebotomy experience is required.
  • Report significant patient condition changes to licensed staff and participate in assigned hospital committees.
  • Demonstrate and uphold the mission, values, and standards of the Nursing Department in all patient interactions.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and utilize effective communication techniques.
  • Assist in orienting new personnel and take initiative in personal and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CNA, MA, or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Preferred qualifications include completion of undergraduate healthcare coursework, bilingual abilities (English/Spanish), and one year of experience in addiction or mental health settings.

Schedule:
11:00 AM – 11:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week plus every other weekend
