About the Opportunity

Paradigm is opening a new ASAM Level 2.1 and 2.5 treatment center in Marshall, Missouri, providing structured, evidence-based care to adults recovering from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.

The Admissions Coordinator is a key member of the multidisciplinary team, responsible for managing all aspects of the client intake and admission process. This role ensures individuals seeking care are connected efficiently, ethically, and compassionately to the appropriate level of treatment. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, client-centered professional who thrives in a fast-paced outpatient environment and excels in communication, coordination, and follow-through.

Position Overview

The Admissions Coordinator oversees and facilitates the intake and admission process for clients entering ASAM 2.1 and 2.5 levels of care. Responsibilities include conducting initial screenings, gathering clinical and demographic information, coordinating with clinical leadership, ensuring documentation accuracy, and maintaining compliance with Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) and ASAM standards.

This role requires a balance of administrative precision, clinical awareness, and empathetic communication to support clients, families, and referral partners throughout the admissions process.

Client Engagement & Intake

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective clients, families, and referral sources, providing professional, compassionate communication.

  • Conduct initial intake screenings and collaborate with the Clinical Supervisor to determine appropriateness for ASAM 2.1 or 2.5 levels of care.

  • Collect required demographic, clinical, and insurance information for admission review.

  • Educate clients and families on program structure, expectations, and next steps prior to admission.

  • Coordinate admission scheduling and ensure a smooth transition from referral to program start.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and complete intake and admission records in accordance with DMH and ASAM requirements.

  • Ensure completion of all required consent forms, releases of information, and intake documentation prior to treatment initiation.

  • Enter, update, and manage client data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

  • Verify clinical documentation supporting medical necessity and level-of-care placement.

  • Participate in quality assurance activities to support regulatory compliance and best practices.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with clinical, administrative, and billing teams to ensure admission readiness.

  • Communicate regularly with clinical leadership regarding capacity, scheduling, and client appropriateness.

  • Serve as a liaison with referral partners, outpatient providers, hospitals, and community agencies.

  • Support seamless onboarding and orientation in collaboration with clinical and support staff.

Program Support & Reporting

  • Track admissions data, referral sources, and conversion metrics to support census and performance goals.

  • Assist with outreach and relationship-building efforts to strengthen referral networks.

  • Support leadership during audits, surveys, and compliance reviews related to admissions and intake.

  • Uphold confidentiality, ethical standards, and trauma-informed principles in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, psychology, or a related field preferred.

  • 1–3 years of experience in admissions, intake coordination, or a behavioral health setting required.

  • Familiarity with ASAM 2.1 and 2.5 levels of care preferred.

  • Strong understanding of intake documentation and outpatient treatment workflows.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

  • Proficiency with EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and secure communication platforms.

  • Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and empathy in sensitive situations.

  • Must pass background check and drug screening per DMH requirements.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in outpatient substance use or co-occurring disorder treatment programs.

  • Familiarity with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and behavioral health funding sources.

  • Strong customer service or call-center experience with an emphasis on trauma-informed communication.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, confidentiality, and data privacy regulations.

Schedule

Full-time, on-site position. Some flexibility may be required to support client intake needs.
