Admissions Officer ( FT Internship without VISA )

The Admissions Officer plays a key role in maintaining Murdoch University Dubai’s academic standards by ensuring all admitted students meet the university’s entry requirements across pathway, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs.


This role involves assessing applications from diverse international and local curricula, processing a high volume of files accurately, and maintaining precise records within the Admissions Management Platform.


The Admissions Officer communicates outcomes to the home campus in Australia and to students, parents, and agents, while working closely with the Recruitment team to support enrolment conversion.


The role may also include representing the university at open days, school visits, and events, and counselling prospective students in line with institutional priorities.


Key Result Areas:


Application Evaluation and Processing

  • Assess and evaluate applications from prospective students for pathway, undergraduate, and postgraduate programs.
  • Apply a deep understanding of both international and local high school curriculums to determine eligibility based on the university’s rigorous entry requirements.
  • Process a high volume of applications daily, ensuring accuracy and adherence to the university's admission criteria.


Data Management and Reporting

  • Accurately enter student data into the Admissions Management Platform.
  • Ensure all required documentation and admission criteria are met before finalizing the application process.
  • Produce and manage regular reports on application statuses, admissions decisions, and other relevant metrics.


Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate application assessment results to key stakeholders at Murdoch University
  • Relay admissions decisions to students, parents, and agents (if applicable) in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the student recruitment team to support and encourage prospective students to enroll at Murdoch University Dubai.


Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Uphold the university’s high standards by ensuring strict adherence to admissions policies and criteria.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with all regulatory and institutional requirements throughout the admissions process.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of admissions processes to align with the university’s strategic goals.


Student Recruitment and Representation

  • Represent Murdoch University Dubai at on-campus events, school fairs, open days, and exhibitions.
  • Counsel prospective students, providing guidance and information based on the university’s admissions criteria.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and school representatives to enhance recruitment efforts.


Qualifications and Selection Criteria


The ideal candidate we seek will have the following:


  • Professional English proficiency
  • Experience processing applications within Higher Education
  • Relevant qualification or substantial experience in education
  • Understanding of the Australian tertiary system (or ability to quickly acquire it)
  • Knowledge of undergraduate admissions policies (local and international)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in student management systems and MS Office
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage high volumes under strict deadlines
  • Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills
  • Team-oriented, accountable, and adaptable


Desirable:


  • Valid UAE visa
  • Available immediately
  • Available full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Competency in a second language
  • Experience using related analytical software and CRM systems
  • Sales/Marketing experience in education is an advantage
