Summary

Adoption Associates is looking for a key team member to work in our Farmington Hills, Michigan location.

The opening is for a full-time caseworker (36-40 hours per week) to work with women who are considering the possibility of placing their baby for adoption.

• This position requires someone who is caring and compassionate, as well as tech savvy, detail-oriented, extremely organized, meticulous with paperwork, and energetic.
• The schedule for this position can fluctuate greatly, so regular availability is important.
• A staff member in this position must be open to travel within the Eastern Michigan area to meet with birth parents, attend court hearings, and work flexible hours - including some evenings and weekends.
• The nature of this position involves many off-site appointments, meetings with social work staff at hospitals and pregnancy centers, and area marketing of our free services to birth parents.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and transparency.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trustful relationships with birth parents and adoption/social work professionals is required.
• A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related human services field is required.
• A minimum of three years of social services work experience is required.

Duties

• Provide counseling and emotional support to birth parents throughout the adoption process.
• Develop individualized adoption plans with birth mothers.
• Maintain detailed case records, documentation, and reports in compliance with agency policies and legal requirements.
• Be available to birth parents on short notice.

Hourly pay range listed in this ad is starting pay. A higher starting pay may be offered depending on experience and skillset. Raises and bonuses are awarded based on performance.
