Adult Education Tutor

• This is a part-time position, three days per week, 18-24 hours each week
• Ideal position for a retired teacher or educator. Teaching/tutoring experience preferred.
• Must have excellent reading, math, social science, and science skills to help students prepare for the GED test by providing direct instruction and support. Familiarity with the GED test preferred. Ability to teach all subject areas on the test required.
• Tutor will administer standardized tests to assess student skills and support students as they seek to improve those skills.
• Tutor must have good computer skills and ability to navigate online sites. Training and support will be provided. Familiarity with Excel, Word, and Google Suites.
• Tutor must demonstrate patience and encouragement with students.
• Tutor must have the ability to accurately complete and maintain paperwork and follow up documentation. Confidentiality and ability to meet deadlines are critical.
• Tutor will help with career exploration activities, test sign ups, voucher acquisitions, and explain requirements related to GED attainment.
• Bachelors Degree or higher preferred.
• This position will be based in Owosso after initial training period and has potential to work at other locations in a substitute capacity.
• Potential for paid mileage.
