Adult Services Librarian

Job Overview

The Richard A. Mola Public Library in Elmwood Park seeks an enthusiastic and self-motivated professional to manage and expand Adult Services. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task, work independently as well as in a team, have strong time-management skills, and maintain up-to-date information about library and technology trends.

Essential functions will include:

• Provide general library reference and reader advisory assistance.
• Manage designated areas of the Collection, including ordering and weeding.
• Plan, market, execute a robust schedule of library programs targeted to adult audiences.
• Develop new library services.
• Promote adult services through flyers, social media and outreach.
• Design, develop and implement displays and exhibits.
• Contribute to website maintenance.
• Various other duties as assigned.

Schedule includes one evening per week and one Saturday per month.

REQUIREMENTS :

• Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from a library program accredited by ALA. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Hold or be eligible for a NJ Professional Librarian Certificate.
• Preferred: At least 2 years of experience in a public library.

Pay: $58,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
