Distinguishing Features Of The Class

The Adult Treatment Court Case Manager performs professional work of considerable difficulty involving comprehensive case management services for participants in the Adult Drug Court program.

Essential Functions

  • Interview clients or their authorized representatives to assess service needs and develop a case plan of action.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and service providers, delivering essential ongoing direct and indirect services through effective case management services.
  • Prepare and compile comprehensive court reports and status updates documenting interactions with clients and service providers.
  • Provide weekly updates on client progress to treatment providers, Behavioral Health, Defense and Prosecutor’s office, Probation Department, and other involved service providers to review.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage client files and a comprehensive client database, ensuring case histories, documentation, and reports are accurately recorded and readily accessible for reference.
  • Transport clients to court related and treatment appointments as required.
  • Participate in staff meetings and court hearings, identify issues requiring additional input or planning and recommend alternative solutions to ensure optimal client outcomes.
  • Participate in and support the development of client treatment plans, meet weekly with clients and treatment providers to monitor progress and compliance.
  • Conduct drug screening for clients in accordance with program requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skill And Ability

  • Thorough knowledge of judicial and legal policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Considerable knowledge of case management principles and practices.
  • Considerable knowledge of Drug Court organization, functions, responsibilities and procedures.
  • Considerable knowledge of criminal justice systems, community organizations, and health service providers.
  • Considerable knowledge of chemical dependency, treatment modalities, crisis intervention, and available treatment resources within the Gila River Indian Community.
  • Considerable knowledge and experience working with clients involved in the criminal justice system and drug-related issues.
  • Skill and ability in interviewing, assessment, problem solving, and case planning within a court setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain strict standards of confidentiality.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to coordinate the work of others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, Community officials, Judges, and the general public.
  • Ability to observe the confidential nature of court records and proceedings.
  • Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position and agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.

Required Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a closely related field and two (2) years’ experience in a social welfare program which included at least one (1) year of case management experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Required to pass a background check and fingerprint clearance as a condition of employment and must continue to maintain throughout the duration of employment.
  • Background checks are required for positions that involve regular contact with or control over Community Children in accordance with The Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, 25 U.S.C. Sections 3201 through 3210 and C.F.R. Part 63 and positions that have regular contact with the Elderly.
  • Required to obtain a Tribal Operator’s permit.
  • Required mandatory reporter pursuant to Title 7, Chapter 2 (7.205), B.
  • Required to attend Title 7 Mandatory Reporting training on a yearly basis.
