Summary:
Provides compassionate services that strengthen the well-being and safety of victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking and other types of abuse. Offers support, advocacy, and intervention to the victim, his/her family members. Directs information, advocacy, and supportive services that allow individuals and families to make informed decisions as they begin healing and/or move through the legal process.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
© College Degree in Social Work or related field preferred
© Case management - minimum experience 1 year preferred
© Understanding of sexual violence, domestic violence, and trauma (Training/Experience in these areas preferred)
© Demonstrate crisis intervention skills in delivering services to victims and an understanding and acceptance of regional psychosocial, cultural, religious and economic differences.
© Articulate ideas clearly (both written and orally), listen accurately, and establish personal rapport with people from a variety of backgrounds. Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to be a team player are a must.
© Must have the ability to work in stressful conditions, maintaining professionalism at all times
© Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated
© Must have a high degree of organizational skills, a sense of urgency, a strong work ethic
© Computer skills required: Microsoft Office and Access Database; along with ability to learn and maintain database system specific to RCFCC
© Ability to work flexible hours
Essential Functions:
© Conducts and evaluates initial needs assessment and safety planning. Assist client in filing out and filing protection orders, and legal aid. Provides court accompaniment.
© Provides crisis intervention services as well as any direct voluntary services including safety planning to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking by advocating on their behalf with the criminal justice system, by assisting victims through networking with appropriate community resources, and by providing follow-up services to program referrals. This may also include providing education and access to victims’ rights and crime victims’ compensation.
© Coordinates continuity of services with collateral agencies, such as law enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office, the Department of Social Services, etc., insuring that multiple agency staff involved with the same client provide services in a coordinated manner that best serves the overall needs of the client and ensures that services are not duplicated among the agencies involved.
© Assure that all client information is entered into the database in a timely and accurate manner. Proper record maintenance ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulation.
© Participate in client case review in order to discuss the unique needs of the clients and families and plan associated support services, ensure seamless coordination of services, and ensure the client and family’s concerns are heard and addressed.
© Play an active role in raising the visibility of all FCC programs including the CAC, connecting the programs to the larger community, and using those linkages to increase the level of community resources (financial, volunteer, tangible, and in-kind) which benefit programs. Maintains harmonious working and collaborative programming relationship with various sponsoring and advisory groups and other related services agencies.
© Facilitate and Co-facilitates groups as needed.
Expected Hours of Work:
Flexible schedule hours of work, including evening and weekend and on call coverage
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
© Maintains physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following: walking, bending, stretching, lifting, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, operating assigned equipment.
© Ability to work flexible/overtime hours, as needed. On call coverage.
© Requires valid NC driver’s license and ability to travel between various agency sites and community resources.
