Advanced Die Designer

About the Role
The Advanced Die Designer leads complex design projects and drives innovation in tooling solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic collaboration, and the ability to mentor others while ensuring designs meet performance, quality, and cost objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Lead Design Development: Create and manage complete 3D assembly models and associated 2D drawings using advanced CAD tools, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.

Innovate and Optimize: Introduce new materials, processes, and technologies to improve tooling performance, reduce costs, and enhance production efficiency.

Problem-Solving Leadership: Provide expert-level solutions for challenging tooling issues, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to resolve complex problems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with purchasing, sales engineering, manufacturing, and other departments to develop strategic tooling solutions aligned with business goals.

Standards and Compliance: Establish and maintain advanced engineering standards, documentation practices, and file management protocols.

Project Ownership: Plan, prioritize, and oversee multiple projects, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.

Mentorship: Guide and support junior designers, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices.
Candidate Requirements

Minimum 10 years in mold/die design with a proven record of leading complex projects.

Mastery of CAD software and advanced 3D modeling techniques; strong understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes.

Ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Demonstrated success in implementing new technologies and process improvements.

Associate’s degree in Industrial Design, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).

Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and time management abilities.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
