    SUMMARY: The Advanced Learning Instructional Coach is responsible for supporting high-quality instruction for advanced and gifted learners by strengthening teacher capacity, promoting research-based gifted pedagogy, and advancing rigorous instructional practices. This role centers on instructional support, coaching, and professional learning, not compliance or program management. All coaching interactions are non-evaluative and designed to support professional growth. The Advanced Learning Instructional Coach advances district priorities by:
    • Supporting teachers in delivering rigorous, differentiated instruction
    • Promoting effective gifted and advanced learner pedagogy
    • Facilitating professional learning and instructional improvement
    • Supporting instructional design for advanced learners

    • Provide job-embedded, non-evaluative coaching to teachers
    • Model instructional strategies aligned to gifted and advanced learner needs
    • Support differentiation, rigor, and depth of knowledge
    • Assist with lesson design and instructional planning
    • Support teachers in implementing research-based gifted practices
    • Promote instructional strategies that extend complexity and challenge
    • Develop exemplar resources and instructional supports
    • Support enrichment and extension structures
    • Design and facilitate professional learning related to advanced learners
    • Support PLC conversations around rigor and differentiation
    • Collaborate with curriculum and instructional leadership
    • Share best practices and instructional tools

    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    All coaching interactions, observations, and feedback are non-evaluative and designed solely to support instructional growth.

    MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Education
    • Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) Certificate
    • Georgia Gifted Endorsement/Certification
    • Minimum of four (4) years of successful teaching experience

    CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
    • GA PSC Educational Certificate
    • GA PSC Gifted Certification/Endorsement
    • TKES/LKES credentialed
    • Clear Fingerprint/Background Check Required

    OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Knowledge of Gifted Education federal and state laws, rules, policies, and procedures
    • Knowledge of the GaDOE Gifted Standards/Requirements and Gifted Program Implementation Models
    • Educational leadership or management experience
    • Ability to interpret policy and law and provide leadership to assigned personnel
    • Ability to read and interpret student academic data and educational reports
    • Advanced data analysis skills
    • Knowledge of the Georgia Performance Standards and GADOE Implementation Manual
    • Knowledge of the SCSC Comprehensive Performance Framework
    • Knowledge of GaDOE CCRPI
    • Proficiency in using computer-based software and online resources to develop training materials
    • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members to plan and deliver speech-language services
    • Ability to create and deliver staff development
    • Ability to communicate well with school personnel, parents, students, and cabinet office staff while complying with the confidentiality requirements in local, state, and federal policies
    • Ability to display a professional attitude in working with school personnel and parents
    • Must be able to manage large volumes of paperwork and maintain adequate records
    • Proficient knowledge of computers, online curricula/tools, and various operating systems.
    • Experience using search engines (Internet) for research projects
    • Desire to research and learn new technology skills and platforms
    • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to interact positively with teachers, administrators, and support staff
    • Possess knowledge of the school improvement process
    • Must be an advocate for virtual learning and believe in the mission of Georgia Cyber Academy
    • Knowledge of state and federal laws, and other pertinent laws regarding K-12 Education as they relate to applicable duties
    • Ability to read and interpret student academic data and educational reports
    • Familiarity with online learning environment
    • Experience working with diverse student populations
    • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Project, Visio, OneNote, and G-Suite.
    • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
    • Ability to manage competing priorities with attention to deadlines
    • Strong critical thinking, planning, and writing skills
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate and communicate effectively within a team
    • Ability to manage multiple projects within established deadlines

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Advanced Degree in Education or related field of study
    • Leadership degree, endorsement, or similar additional certification
    • Gifted, Special Education, and/or ESOL certifications
    • Proficient/Advanced with Canvas (LMS)
    • Proficient/Advanced in the use of the Zoom conferencing tool
    • Three (3) years of virtual educational environment experience
    • Previous experience as a Learning Facilitator, Advisor, or Teacher at Georgia Cyber Academy
    • Previous experience as an online educator
    • Previous experience with online educational tools/curriculum/assessments

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • This is a primarily remote position. The office noise level is usually moderate (computers, printers, and light foot traffic).
    • During critical periods, additional in-office days may be required.
    • May require traveling up to 25% of the time.
    • In-person attendance at professional development, training, conferences, job fairs, meetings, evaluations, school events, marketing events, and testing sites will be required several times per year.
    • Light lifting required.
