Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) plays an active role in promoting quality patient care and overall practice success. This position works closely with Physicians, ancillary staff members and Management to improve patient care and outcomes. The NP establishes and maintains professional community relationships with outside clinics/hospitals and physicians. In addition, the NP works with management to set and achieve goals for productivity and performance and provides leadership or mentor support for clinical staff.
Essential Job Functions:
Kidney Support Services Clinic

See patients per schedule for Chronic Kidney Disease follow up and management

Collaborate with Physician Clinic Director and Supervising Physician regularly for feedback regarding individual cases, treatment plans, and overall practice philosophy and goals

Provide clinical support as necessary including all aspects of direct patient care

Remain up to date with current recommendations regarding CKD disease management from RPA, ASN, and NKF

Regularly review protocols and discuss recommendations for revisions and/or improvements based on national updates, best demonstrated practice and hands-on experience

Actively participate in CKD patient educational programs including development, revision, and improvement of educational content and delivery
Hospital Dialysis and Rounding

See patients per schedule for dialysis and/or hospital continuation of care

Collaborate with Physician Clinic Director and Supervising Physician regularly for feedback regarding individual cases, treatment plans, and overall practice philosophy and goals

Works closely with dialysis unit and/or hospital staff to ensure appropriate and adequate communication regarding plan of care

May be required to be present at multiple locations within a single work day
General Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree from an accredited APRN Nursing School;
- Active, unrestricted State of Nevada Nurse Practitioner license;

Nephrology experience as an APN, RN or dialysis tech preferred, but not required;
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and/or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification;

Must possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills and a professional demeanor when responding to patients and staff;

Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment;

Experience with EMR and excellent computer skills;

Bilingual a plus.
