Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner, Non-Surgical Pain Practice

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner to join our Non-Surgical Pain Practice. In this vital role, you will deliver comprehensive pain management care, utilizing advanced clinical skills and a compassionate approach to improve patient outcomes. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, perform detailed patient assessments, and develop personalized treatment plans that encompass both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. Your expertise will help elevate our practice’s ability to provide innovative, effective pain relief solutions for diverse patient populations.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history review, physical examinations, and assessment of pain levels using physiology knowledge and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Develop and implement individualized pain management plans incorporating modalities such as botulinum toxin treatment, dermal fillers, esthetic laser treatments, spinal taps, and IV infusions.
  • Administer injections and medications with precision, ensuring adherence to sterile processing standards and aseptic techniques.
  • Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Cerner for accurate medical documentation, coding (CPT, ICD-10), and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform advanced procedures such as catheterization, venipuncture, tube feeding management, and basic life support during emergency situations.
  • Engage in telehealth consultations to extend pain management services remotely while maintaining high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with specialists in gastroenterology, infectious disease care, behavioral health, geriatrics, hospice & palliative medicine, and other disciplines to optimize treatment strategies.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives related to acute pain management or innovative therapies to advance the field.
  • Provide education on health coaching topics including nutrition, medication administration, discharge planning, and utilization review for patients across outpatient and inpatient settings.

Experience

  • Proven experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner in a hospital or clinic setting with a focus on pain management or related specialties such as anesthesiology or internal medicine.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; telehealth experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong background in performing procedures such as spinal taps, dermal fillers, Botox treatments (botulinum toxin), suture placement, and IV insertions.
  • Critical care experience from ICU or Level I/II trauma centers enhances your ability to manage complex cases effectively.
  • Familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes and ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) ensures accurate documentation of diagnoses and procedures.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics (pediatrics), geriatrics (memory care), assisted living residents, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and infection prevention protocols in hospital medicine or outpatient clinics supports safe patient care delivery. Pay: $98,693.54 - $118,856.73 per year
