Position Overview

Hawthorne Oncology Pain Experts (HOPE) is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) with a minimum of three (3) years of direct pain management experience to join our growing interventional pain practice in Tampa, Florida.

This position is available as:

  • Part-Time (3 days per week), or
  • Full-Time

The role is structured as approximately 80% outpatient clinic and 20% hospital-based responsibilities, with shared after-hours call coverage.

This is not an entry-level or transitional role. We are seeking a clinically mature APP who is comfortable independently managing complex chronic pain patients and actively participating in procedural work-up and surgical coordination.

  • Advanced interventional spine procedures

  • Intrathecal drug delivery

Core Responsibilities

Outpatient Interventional Pain Management (Primary Focus – 80%)

  • Evaluate and manage patients with chronic spine, joint, neuropathic, and complex pain conditions
  • Develop evidence-based treatment plans
  • Identify appropriate candidates for advanced interventional procedures
  • Order and interpret imaging and diagnostics
  • Maintain strong documentation and compliance standards
  • Manage opioid therapy and UDS protocols appropriately

Procedural Work-Up & Coordination

The ideal candidate must have experience working up and ordering advanced procedures including:

  • Sacroiliac joint fusion
  • Spinal cord stimulation (SCS)
  • Intrathecal drug delivery systems (pain pumps)
  • Kyphoplasty
  • Posterolateral arthrodesis
  • Minimally invasive spine procedures
  • Regenerative medicine therapies

Responsibilities include:

  • Patient education and surgical expectation setting
  • Pre-operative chart preparation and documentation
  • Order entry and surgical coordination
  • Post-procedure follow-up care

Familiarity with procedural pipeline development is essential.

Hospital Responsibilities (20%)

  • Inpatient consults and follow-up evaluations
  • Coordination of peri-procedural hospital care
  • Shared after-hours call coverage
  • Escalation to supervising physician as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of accredited APRN or PA program
  • Active Florida license
  • DEA license
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct pain management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in interventional pain work-ups
  • Experience with neuromodulation and advanced spine procedures preferred
  • Strong knowledge of opioid compliance and UDS interpretation

Schedule Options

  • Part-Time: 3 fixed clinical days per week

Compensation
