Position Summary

The Advancement Communications Coordinator supports the Augustine Institute’s fundraising and engagement efforts by developing clear, compelling, and consistent messaging that articulates institutional priorities, impact, and funding needs.

This role collaborates closely with Advancement leadership, gift officers, Augustine Institute staff, and external partners to create and maintain cases for support, donor-facing materials, individual donor proposals and stewardship reports, fundraising communications, and other Advancement communications content. The Coordinator ensures that messaging is audience-centered, strategically aligned, and adaptable across platforms, while managing multiple projects and timelines in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • The ability to draft clear, donor-facing copy with attention to tone and detail.
  • Ability to execute email builds, graphic design, and layouts for print.
  • Comfort working independently in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong judgement and ability to assess urgency.
  • The ability to translate high-level direction into concrete next steps.
  • Receptive to feedback on work product and ability to revise copy and design quickly.
  • Attention to detail under repetition and quick-turn production.
  • Comfort in tracking work through completion.
  • Experience in social media, web, and traditional marketing practices a plus.


Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated expertise in email marketing systems.
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Strong people skills, with proven ability to encourage and motivate others.
  • Good communication skills, and strong listening skills.
  • Teachable spirit and willingness to submit to leadership.
  • Self-motivated, exhibiting responsibility, maturity, integrity, and dependability.
  • Committed to team participation.
  • Must be proficient in Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be familiar with basic office equipment, such as computers, copiers, printers and scanners.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, Communications, Theology or related field
  • Proven work experience in fundraising, marketing, or similar role preferred


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform typing and use of office equipment, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
