Hook
- Love fishing, boats, and creating scroll‑stopping content?
- We’re looking for a freelance social media manager who wants to be on the water with us, capture the story, and turn it into content that grows our brand, followers, and sales.
- You’ll join select fishing trips, shoot and edit content, manage our social channels, and help market and sell our branded gear to a loyal (and growing) community.
- This is a flexible, part‑time contract role with lots of creative freedom and a clear path to more hours if you deliver results.
Who You Are
- You actually fish or love the fishing/boating lifestyle (you know the difference between “just a picture” and “trophy‑post material”).
- You’re comfortable on boats and around water, including early mornings and long days when needed.
- You’re a hands‑on creator: you shoot, edit, and post short‑form video (Reels/TikTok/Shorts) and photos yourself.
- You understand how to grow followers and engagement, not just “make pretty posts.”
- You’re self‑directed, hit deadlines, and communicate clearly without hand‑holding.
What You’ll Do
- Join scheduled fishing trips (Stuart) to capture raw content: video, photos, behind‑the‑scenes moments, and product shots.
- Turn trip footage into ready‑to‑post content: short‑form videos, reels, stories, carousels, and stills optimized for each platform.
- Plan and manage a simple content calendar for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts (and future channels as we grow).
- Write engaging captions, hooks, and CTAs that drive comments, shares, and clicks to our gear.
- Actively engage with followers and relevant communities (comments, DMs, collabs) to build a real fan base.
- Help design and execute basic campaigns to market, advertise, and sell our branded gear (drops, promos, giveaways, ambassador collabs).
- Track performance with simple dashboards: follower growth, reach, engagement, website clicks, and merch sales attributed to social.
Must‑Have Skills
- Proven examples of short‑form video content (Reels/TikTok/Shorts) you’ve shot and edited yourself.
- Strong visual eye: framing, lighting, and storytelling in fast‑paced outdoor environments.
- Comfortable with at least one editing tool (CapCut, Final Cut, Premiere, or similar).
- Working knowledge of social platforms and basic analytics (Instagram/TikTok insights, etc.).
- Clear written English for captions, hooks, and comments.
Nice‑to‑Haves
- Prior experience with outdoor, fishing, boating, or lifestyle brands.
- Experience running basic paid social campaigns to boost key content or product pushes.
- UGC background (creating “native” ad content that looks organic, not like a traditional ad).
- Basic product photography skills for branded gear (flat lays, lifestyle shots, unboxings).
Logistics & Compensation
- Freelance / contract role, starting part‑time with room to grow based on performance.
- Mix of on‑location (fishing trips, gear shoots) and remote work (editing, posting, engagement).
- Compensation: competitive project or monthly retainer, plus performance‑based bonuses tied to follower growth and gear sales (to be defined together).
- Location: ideally based in Stuart, FL area or able to travel for fishing trips.
